charles darwin foundation, internationalThe CDF, Inc. was founded in 1992 with funds from a trust fund program of the Smithsonian Institution. The CDF, Inc. is an independent scientific institution and research station in the Galapagos and a sister organization to the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Isles. Together the CDF, Inc. and Charles Darwin Foundation conduct seminars, briefings, and other public education and advocacy efforts to inform the general public about conservation issues. CDF, Inc. is the headquarters for an international membership of more than 10,000 and raises funds from individuals and institutions to support projects in the Galapagos. The Travelers Conservation Trust has assisted the CDF, Inc. because of the many approaches they have adopted to protect the Galapagos. CDF, Inc. has provided members, scientists, professors, dignitaries, and the media, opportunities to attend events and learn more about the Galapagos Islands.
